miscellaneous photos

These non-music related pictures were taken from some of my personal favorites and were collected over the years. Enjoy!

With my friend Richard Zeno. Here we are making that infamous "bet" on who'd puss out and get their hair cut first. Three years later, I'm looking like Mark Farner from Grand Funk, and Richie's STILL with the same hair length! He never cut it -I just hadn't counted on that mop of his curling up and out like it did. A case of Sierra Nevada, a plate of Chicken Wings and a Spliff settled things. Photo by Robin Carlson

Back in '79, a bunch of us decided to go see the pope in Philly. I figured it was a chance to get out of school and party. Well, we did. Dina is the cute one up front on the left. I really liked her alot. - Not sure who took this picture.

Tom Stone: beer purveyor to the stars. Tom seems quite content living out in the bay area, tasting fine wine and enjoying life. Indeed, I've found Tom to be a true connoisseur of life itself. -Photo by Joe Herbert

Hannah, making a point while at the Strasburg Theater, April 2006.-Photo by Joe Herbert

Here's Tovah doing her "I'm a little teapot" rendition at our apartment in Manassas. What a cutie! -Photo by Joe Herbert

It's so nice to see the smiles on these two as they head off for their first day of school. They were both attending Occoquan Elementary. -Photo by Joe Herbert

-A nice shot of my two daughters, Tovah and Tori. We lived on a 100 acre farm in Nokesville, VA for a couple of years. Farmer Jones (his real name) would come by twice a day and feed his cattle. A very pleasurable existence, I was real happy there for a while.

Here we are folks- the entire happy family all gathered on the couch for a wonderful photo op.

This is a nice one of Kim holding the baby. Notice the two full 100 count cassette tape holders on the wall. I thought I had all the tapes I'd ever need at this point. The collection grew to well over 1400 tapes, and that was before CD's became all the rage. You should see my music collection now. -Photo by Joe Herbert

Back in Occoquan, VA. This was probably the most multi-cultural place one could possibly live in. Our next door neighbors were from Pakistan. Living right above us, two families from India. On the third floor, a Black family. On top of them lived Tovah's friend who was from Afghanistan. Across the street, folks were from Hawaii, and there were a great deal of people from El Salvador, Korea, you name it. I found it to be a rich and rewarding experience, where my kids could learn about other people and cultures. -Photo by Joe Herbert

Nice shot of Kim. This one was taken at the Firehouse Grill in Fairfax, VA during Greg Keyser's "Dead Night". Donna Jean showed up one night and we all talked about her days playing with the Grateful Dead. -Photo by Joe Herbert

This one captures a lot of Tori's essence. She's got that attitude like, "yeah, what else ya got?". I'm afraid she gets that from me. - Photo by Joe Herbert

I'm not sure why I like this picture. It's kind of weird, but.. oh well. -Photo by Joe Herbert

Phil Malatin -my old roommate from Wilkes-Barre. Now a world travelled Kayaking freak, he and his wife Niki live in bumfuck North Carolina where he teaches the 'Hmong' children how to adapt to our American way of life. Dat Right, Jack! -Photo by Joe Herbert

Street in Azerbaijan. My buddy Mike has been visiting some really far off places over the years, then filling us in when he returns to the United States. He'll sit there telling us about these amazingly beautiful and different places and situations and stories about all manner of topics, while we all sit there going "uh huh.. uh huh..." -Photo by Mike Thurman

Adam getting lost in the mix. He's got some very interesting grooves, and sometimes joins the Mad Amalgamation for local gigs. Also serves as drummer in "The Band from Outer Space" -Photo by Joe Herbert

Is there any reason for this? Ladies and Gentlemen, I implore you. When we first moved to Strasburg, I heard some funny comments being passed around from the new neighbors about this particular hairdo. I see nothing wrong with it. -Photo by Leslie.

Leslie's a very fine school teacher. Here she is working on her 'cryptoquip' puzzle. -Photo by Joe Herbert

With Tori clowning around in the backyard at Pete's house. She's got an amazing sense of humor, and can keep us laughing for hours with her antics. -Photo by Joe Herbert

Way out graphic done up by Kenny. This was a show we did at the sunset grill out in Annandale, VA. - Photo by Pete Walters

Here’s a picture taken by Mike Thurman on yet another of his trips to Armenia. What a country. If you look on a world map, it’s interesting to see the countries that surround this tiny landlocked nation. They’ve been fighting for their small slice of paradise since before most nations were even charted.

Another shot at the Sunset Grill. See how much fun we’re having?
