nothing to say so this is the way that you deal with your feelings by ignoring me and thinking that i’ll just go away i come in here and see you there talking with your friends and you see me, and suddenly you got nothing to say with a voice that loud, you’d think that you’d be able to express yourself just a little bit better than that but i guess that it’s just too much for you to even deal with so you turn away and go back to your chat but i’m not goin’ anywhere so you can sit there gettin’ nervous and just wait until it’s your turn to sing or you can tell your little friend there how you think that i’m just too much for you, even though i never asked for a thing if you didn’t want me to call or write you why’d you write your numbers in my book right there next to the cute little peace sign and if you thought that i felt that way, why is it that you couldn’t just say ‘stead of leaving me thinking everything was fine cause i knew everything wasn’t fine and that’s why i came and asked you don’t tell me you’re just out of it and turn away you never had a problem telling me exactly how you felt so why not tell me now why you got nothing to say - nothing to say you wanna leave me sitting all alone in the back there -well that’s ok i’m expecting some friends who’ll be here any minute so you’ll look so good for just so long, til everything shows up that was wrong it’s a crazy world and we’re both stuck in it so go ahead and have your moment i won’t stand in the way but just remember how you chose to treat it cuz i’ve been in the same position you were in and i wasn’t that mean you didn’t realize that i’m not gonna be defeated and i knew everything wasn’t fine and that’s why i came and asked you don’t tell me you’re just out of it and turn away you never had a problem telling me exactly how you felt so why not tell me now why you got nothing to say.... nothing to say nothing to say...nothing to say.... music and lyrics by joseph herbert, copyright 2000
